Book Review: Nashville Trio by Joy Daniels

Description:

Music City, USA

After years of hard work country music duo Sweet Talk is on the verge of success. Singer Ashley Ford swore off the romantic entanglements that cost her mother her musical career, but her playing has fallen flat. She needs a spark.

Where inspirations strikes

Co-singer Rob usually find his pleasure with men, but when Ashley runs back to the arms of her ex lover Ty, he realizes that he’s no longer content being only a friend.

A tangled trio

Pride kept Ty from pursing Ashley to Nashville. When Ashley returns to his bed, Ty vows not to give her up again, even if it means sharing her with a man he finds aggravating – and surprisingly attractive.

When secrets and ambition seem poised to destroy her chance to be a star, Ashley must decide if she’s willing to risk it all for a Nashville Trio.

Excerpt:

A tightening of of Ty's jaw was the only indication that Rob's words hit their mark.  He swallowed, then looked at Ashley.  His expression softened.  "You were wonderful."

"Thanks."  Her throat was so dry it came out like a whisper.

Rob's fingers brushed her lower back, and she shivered.  "She was better than that - she was hot."

The last word was a soft gasp that made Ashley's skin tingle.  She turned away to hide her reaction, but couldn't resist peeking at Ty from the corner of her eye.  His smile was a secret sly kind of thing, and he caught her gaze as he nodded.  "Scorching.  Even hotter than I remembered."

Ashley sucked in in a breath as her face flamed.  Ty wasn't talking about the show anymore.  The hand against her back clenched into a fist.  Rob had caught Ty's meaning too.

Okay, it was time to put a stop to the testosterone display before...  Before what, Ashley couldn't say.  She shifted her weight, ready to put some distance between herself and both men.  But before she could move, Ty was right in front of her.  Startled, she took a stumbling step backwards, and she bumped into Rob.  His erection pressed into her ass.

She started to pull away but Rob's hands grasped her hips.  His heat cradled her back.  Ty's breath fanned her face.  The arousal had been smoldering within her leapt into flame.  Her body clenched.  Nipples tightened into hard points.  Ty raised his hand to her jaw, and brought his mouth to hers.  His tongue thrust between her lips.  She stiffened, expecting Rob to protest, so she was completely unprepared when he rubbed against her, and nipped the outer shell of her ear.

Oh, God.  They were treating her like the rope in a game of sexual tug-of-war - so why was she so turned on?

Review:

This is the first book that I have read by Joy Daniels and it will not be the last.  I loved Nashville Trio!  It was the perfect blend of plot, sexual tension, and super hot sex scenes.  What I really loved about the book (besides the seriously hot sex) was the fact that I got a glimpse at everyone's point of view.  So often in the books I read, you only hear the lead female's thoughts.  I'm always left wondering what they guy is thinking.  But with Nashville Trio, Joy Daniels weaves the different character's view points seamlessly to where I always know what is on each character's mind, but it's not a jarring jump to each point of view.  I also love the mix of different sex scenes.  There's solo lovin' (masturbation is highly under-rated!), guy/girl, guy/girl/guy, and even some super yummy guy/guy scenes.  I'm getting hot just thinking back to them!  I will definetly be adding Joy Daniel's other books to my "want-to-read" list on Goodreads.

About the Author:

I write erotic romance because I like to expose my characters completely – strengths, flaws and scars. My debut novella, Revving Her Up, was the first story in the Full Throttle series, which focuses on the bad boys – and girls – of stock car racing. It was a Night Owl Reviews Top Pick, and has been called "one heck of a sexy ride" (Sizzling Hot Books), and "a hell of a sexy read" (Read-Love-Blog). I am currently working on the next two stories in the series.

My newest novel, Nashville Trio, is a steamy MMF ménage novel about a country singer and the two very different men in her life. It comes out May 5, 2014.

New Adult romance is my new favorite passion. I love writing stories with angst and heart, heart-melting kisses, and happy endings. I'm currently working on two New Adults series. The first, RunningScared , is about a Boston University student and the bodyguard hired to protect her from herself. It will be out in August 2014. The second series is a trilogy (Scarred, Burned, and Marked) about three friends bound together by a terrible tragedy and the scars it left behind.

I'm originally from New York City, (and still a loyal Yankees fan!), but since moving south, I've developed passions for NASCAR and country music. Both feature in my recent stories. In addition to writing (and reading) I enjoy yoga, bellydancing, and growing veggies in the Washington, D.C. area with my scientist husband and two curious kids. I'm active in the Washington Romance Writers, and the Maryland Romance Writers, and have been a member of the Romance Writers of America (RWA) since 2009.

Character Interview with Kayla Saradon from the book Uncensored Passion by Bobbie Cole Meyer

Book one in the Men of Passion Series: A contemporary erotic series about the passions and devotion of five men to the one woman who loves them all...

Kayla Saradon is a beautiful, respected psychiatrist who her friends claim has discovered the fountain of youth. Kayla wonders what her friends would say if they knew her secret is the polyandry lifestyle she shares with her four, studly "husbands" — each skilled in his own sexual specialty?

Then PI, Trey Sean Cameron, who is secretly investigating her lifestyle, explodes into her life. The ex-Army Special Forces operative raises emotions Kayla can neither control nor contain. Can Trey — a demanding and possessive lover — ever share in her lifestyle? If not, how far will she go to keep him?

Kayla’s Interview:

Hi Kayla!! Thank you so much for stopping by! We really appreciate your time today!
Can you give us a little bit of background as to how you came into this particular lifestyle?
I was raised within a strict, ‘sticking to society’s rules in order to blend in with what is expected’ atmosphere and, being silently rebellious from as far back as I can recall, I hated it!   I made up my mind that as soon as I felt released from those restrictions placed on me by my socially-conscience parents, I would live the life that was perfect for me, regardless of how others might view it – and as I researched the concept of polyandry, I believed it was the answer to life-affirming completion.

What were your first thought when you first saw Trey?
My first thought when I saw Trey was that he was the epitome of what a man should look like and immediately, my curiosity was peaked as to how he might perform sexually.  That thought inevitably leads to provocative outcomes, don’t you think?

Do you hate or love the job?
I love my job when it comes to delving into the psyche of others and trying to help them resolve deep-seated issues.  And what I hate about it is the fact that I am limited as to how I can help them in opening up to possible new avenues of life, without imposing my personal preferences.

Describe yourself in 3 words.
Three words of self description?  Hum, that is a tough one, without sounding like an egomaniacal individual.  Wish you had asked for double-worded answers such as Self-sufficient and sexually-explorative. But here goes.  1) Uninhibited; 2) Adventurous and 3)  Curious

What is your biggest pet peeve?
My biggest pet peeve is crossing paths with narrow-minded people who refuse to entertain anything contrary to what society has thrust upon them as ‘normal’.

What is something no one else knows about you?
Something no one else knows about me?   That is almost too personal to answer.  If I were pushed into a corner, guess I’d have to say that I sometimes feel like a small child, seeking love and acceptance of the real me – the me I effectively hide in order to conform.  If you haven’t guessed yet, I HATE conforming.

Best date you ever went on?
Best date I ever went on was when I had dinner with Trey that magical day we met, and later went to his hotel room, spending hours disovering how compatible we truly were, sexually speaking.

At want point did you realize you were in love with Trey?
I realized I was in love with Trey when I could not get him off my mind, after just that one fantastic afternoon and evening of lovemaking.  My feelings escalated the longer I was away from him.  The longing to be with him – for him to be inside of me – became overwhelming and I had to admit that it was love, such as I had never experienced nor believed that I ever would!  That was a revelatory moment, because I loved the guys in my life and thought they were all I needed.  But suddenly I knew without Trey, life would be empty.

Is there anything about your relationship with Trey you would change (past or present)?
The only thing I would change about our relationship is the early contentious feelings that nearly destroyed us before we became an ‘us’.  Hope that makes sense.

As always, she was met by her four “husbands” when she stepped inside. After kissing them all, she led the way into the living room and plopped down on the couch with a weary sigh.
They all could see she was mentally drained. In silent agreement, they decided to relieve her tension: Luke massaged the kinks out of her neck, Lee rubbed her feet, Harm brought her a glass of wine, and J.J. took her hand and sucked her fingers gently. He sat beside her to ask, “What can I do to erase the memories of the day, enamorada?”
“You’re doing it. All of you,” she said, flashing them all a tired smile as she took a long swallow of the wine. “I don’t know what I’d do without you—any of you.”
J.J. leaned to kiss her, before suggesting, “Why don’t we all relax in the Jacuzzi? Maybe that will wash away the lousy day.”
“Great idea,” Harm echoed.
“Dinner can wait,” Lee said. “It’s just leftover pot roast, anyway. Unless you’re hungry enough to eat right now.”
Kayla shook her head. “No, I’m not. The Jacuzzi sounds great.”
“Tell you what. Let us do everything tonight,” Luke suggested. “Undress you, position you in the Jacuzzi, give you a fresh glass of wine, then stand ready to offer whatever pleasure you desire to erase the day.”
“Sounds wonderful,” Kayla said laughing. “I’m all yours, guys.”
Luke disappeared through the patio doors to start the Jacuzzi while she allowed her other three “husbands” to undress her and then lead her to the inviting, bubbling, warm water.
Kayla’s mind was reeling with the delicious feeling that she had the greatest life one woman could imagine as she settled in the Jacuzzi and watched her handsome partners disrobe, then join her in compatible silence.
As always, Kayla marveled at how comfortable they all were with her and each other, the way a perfect marriage should be, but seldom was. In fact, as far as she knew from her patients and past experience with her parents, hers was the only such marriage in existence.
Knowing it was Lee’s night, the others positioned themselves slightly apart, deferring to him the coveted place next to her. She leaned her head onto his broad shoulder before tilting her head up to receive his passionate kiss.
“Sorry that damned job takes such a toll on you, hon,” he said tenderly as he pulled away.
“Some days are harder to get through than others. Lately I seem to resent them all, however. I’m thinking I must need a vacation.”
